Bismarck Boy and Devils Lake Girl Win Savings Bonds in Drawing Contest

Bismarck, ND, June 18, 2009: Bilal Hyder, a 12-year old student of Prairie Rose Elementary in Bismarck, along with Alexandria Palmer, a nine-year old student of Sweetwater school in Devils Lake, won a drawing contest sponsored by the North Dakota Jump$tart Coalition. Each child attended a Marketplace for Kids event and stopped at the Jump$tart booth to participate in its contest, which asked children to draw a picture of something they were willing to save money for.
Bilal drew a vivid picture of a vacation spot while Alexandria drew a detailed picture of a college. Each earned a $50 Savings Bond sponsored by the North Dakota Bankers Association through the North Dakota Jump$tart Coalition.
The North Dakota Jump$tart Coalition is a non-profit organization with members from more than 35 organizations representing business, government, non-profits and education who have joined together to improve the personal financial literacy of all North Dakotans.
